The Akron-Summit County Public Library and the Summit County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society present Early Morning Genealogy. Mingle and share with fellow genealogists as you uncover the details of your ancestry. Library staff, SCCOGS volunteers, and representatives from other local organizations will offer research consultation and membership information. Refreshments and raffle prizes, too!

Ever get confused searching on Fold3?  Learn what records are available for your 19th Century military ancestors there and pick up some search strategies to narrow down what you're looking for. Yes, there is a better way to search and Brian Rhinehart of Civil War Records will share his knowledge and experience in his program "Finding Your 19th Century Ancestor Using Fold3".

The Genealogy Club meetings often include a program or video followed by a discussion and sharing of ideas, resources, and advice.  On occasion, a member of the group will provide the program for the group.

 

If a webinar or other online tool is used it will be posted to the Club's Facebook Group within a few days of the meeting.  The Club's Facebook site can be found as a "group" on the Library's Facebook site.

 

They meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Board Room on the lower level of the Library.
