History:This cemetery was developed on the 256 acres that were once the farms owned by the Leach and Dodge families. The original layout featured two lakes and an electric fountain that was lighted in the evening. Swans and ducks once lived on the grounds. Still seen today are the unique walls and entrance buildings constructed of a special cinder brick brought in from Oklahoma.

Elmer Flick b January 11, 1876 d January 9, 1971
Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. Born in Bedford, Ohio, he was known as "The Bedford Sheriff" and is recognized as one of the greatest all around performers of the "Dead Ball" Era. As a right fielder, he played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Indians from 1898 to 1910. He had a .315 lifetime batting average, 1,755 hits, 164 triples, 756 runs batted in and stole 330 bases in 13 major league seasons. After his retirement he was a scout for the Indians.
